Jon Segal has more than 25 years of experience in accounting. His career at KRD totals more than 13 years, working in the areas of real estate, manufacturing, distribution, construction, printing and professional services. He became a partner of the firm in January, 2004.

KRD clients and their businesses benefit from Jon’s prior experiences as the CFO of an Inc. 500 privately held company and as a Senior Manager for one of Chicago’s top 15 accounting firms.

Additionally, as an investor in many real estate ventures and an entrepreneur himself, Jon understands the financial risks and challenges when structuring a new company.

Jon dedicates time to present and speak with college students about the career advantages and differences of working at a middle market accounting firm. Students at Loyola, Northern Illinois and DePaul Coleman’s Entrepreneurship Program have had the opportunity to listen and speak with Jon.

A Certified Public Accountant, Jon obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Loyola University in Chicago. He is a member of the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society.

“The part of my job I enjoy the most is helping clients solve their problems,” says Jon. “Because of the size of our firm, we are able to provide support, depth and expertise, and it’s gratifying to know that we make a difference in our clients’ lives.”

Jon says he enjoys working at KRD because of the family-like atmosphere and the team-oriented philosophy, “We have regular firm-wide meetings where the ideas presented are appreciated and valued,” he comments.

Jon, his wife Adriana, and son Henry reside in the greater Barrington area. In his spare time, Jon enjoys spending time with his son, fitness, movies, reading, good restaurants and a fine bottle of wine.
